Tell me about you...

I am a full time Professor at Methodist Tech University Izabela Hendrix and PhD in Economic Sociology at Minas Gerais Federal University. I love programming (specially R, Python and C++), and I love working with Machine Learning and Network Analysis. Have been working as a consultant on Data Science, Analytics, Network Analysis and Web Crawling for a while. Open Source enthusiast!

What about your academic work?

sample-image My scientific investigations include the fields of Economic Sociology, Sociology of Art, Sociology of Music and Sociology of Education. I am interested on music and art markets, scientific productivity and scientific collaboration networks, international transaction networks, migration networks and inequality in educational system. I work mainly with Social Network Analysis, the base paradigm on which I am developing my dissertation.

I also teach disciplines in four undergraduate courses in Brazil: Data Science, Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics and Music. What I most like to tell my students is

Quaest Consulting and Research

Chief Data Scientist

At Quaest, I coordinate the Data Science team and work doing feature selection and feature engineering for machine learning models, building data visualization tools and dashboards, monitoring social media and building reports and presentations. At Quaest we also have developed a portfolio of solutions to campaings/political analysis, branding and marketing, CRM, educational management/planning and public policy.

Full Time Professor, Head of Data Science and Music Departments

In Methodist Tech Izabela Hendrix, I coordinate both Data Science and Music undergraduate courses. I teach functional programming, object oriented programming, analytics and I guide students applied projects in Data Science, Bioinformatics and Computer Engineering courses. In Music undergraduate, I teach music theory, piano, scientific methodology, cultural projects and choral singing.

Guest Researcher

In 2017 I was granted a Brazilian scholarship for a doctoral internship abroad. This scholarship brought me to the Centre de Sociologie des Organisations at SciencesPo in Paris where I worked with prof. Emmanuel Lazega.

Researcher

Since 2015, I am part of GIARS, the Interdisciplinary Social Network Analysis Research Group at Minas Gerais Federal University. I got a PhD at this university where I conducted my dissertation on orchestral music markets. My advisor was Prof. Silvio Salej Higgins.
